Quonsett Air Show

Posted on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 7:15 pm

This years show was a bit lackluster from the house.  Usually there are about 10 flybys per day, but we had only 4 this weekend.  Of course, I did not have the camera ready at those times.  I was able to get a couple of shots of the show at quite some distance.  Both were taken with the A100 and Quantaray 70-300mm lens.

These are annual flowers that we have put in a few pots on our front step.  I rather like the flower color and spidery look of the whole plant.  These were taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm.  I am thinking that the second could have used a nice fill flash.

New Iron Chef Photography from Neil Creek

For the month of June, Neil Creek is running a contest in his Iron Chef Photography series.  This month the secret ingredient is Shoes.  The idea is to not go for the “best looking shoes” shot, but rather the best story.  This has already  stirred some ideas in my head and I can’t wait to offer up my submission.

Balancing on Water

It has been extremely hot here in the North East! We decided to buy our daughters a new wading pool. Sarah loves getting wet and spends more time jumping in the pool than sitting in it. This was taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm as usual.

A mother and 2 children came over last Thursday. One children decided to stay for the day and actually let me get up close with the camera. This shot was taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm.
