Saphira Fancy

Posted on Friday, June 13, 2008 at 5:47 pm

These are annual flowers that we have put in a few pots on our front step.  I rather like the flower color and spidery look of the whole plant.  These were taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm.  I am thinking that the second could have used a nice fill flash.

That is a tough one to spell!  The bloom is lovely though.  This one was from an early evening shoot nad I was trying to catch it with some fill light from the on camera flash.  This is where a wireless flash would come in handy.  It was taken with the Sigma 24-70mm and A100, although I am thinking the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 might do the trick.

Sunlit Tulip

Posted on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 12:14 am

Finally got some sun after a week or rain and clouds.  Sure the sun came out towards the end of the day a few days ago, but today was a full day of sun.  Too bad I had to go into work.  Before getting in the car, I stole a shot of a large tulip against the sun.  Normally I shot with the sun to the back, but I wanted a different angle.  Also, I pulled out the Minolta 5omm f/1.7 to go on the A100.  I was giving the Sigma a break.

Fall Leftover

I saw some leaves in the yard that did not get picked up during the usual fall cleanup.  I thought it would make a nice subject now that the grass is turning green.  Taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8.

Dogwood Flower all Open

After 2 days of rain we had a bit of sun yesterday evening.  The dogwood tree really opened up.  It is too bad that it is being dwarfed by a neighbors maple tree.  This shot again is taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 combo.
