New Iron Chef Photography from Neil Creek

For the month of June, Neil Creek is running a contest in his Iron Chef Photography series.  This month the secret ingredient is Shoes.  The idea is to not go for the “best looking shoes” shot, but rather the best story.  This has already  stirred some ideas in my head and I can’t wait to offer up my submission.

It has been extremely hot here in the North East! We decided to buy our daughters a new wading pool. Sarah loves getting wet and spends more time jumping in the pool than sitting in it. This was taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm as usual.

A mother and 2 children came over last Thursday. One children decided to stay for the day and actually let me get up close with the camera. This shot was taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70mm.

That is a tough one to spell!  The bloom is lovely though.  This one was from an early evening shoot nad I was trying to catch it with some fill light from the on camera flash.  This is where a wireless flash would come in handy.  It was taken with the Sigma 24-70mm and A100, although I am thinking the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 might do the trick.

I had a 2 minute trip to the park while taking Sarah for ice cream. It is was quick set of shots and green everywhere. This one was taken at a little pond at the park. In the distance, you can see the harbor. That is an area for some good morning pictures. I have to get up early enough one of these days. The shot below was taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 combo.
