Rhodedendron

That is a tough one to spell!  The bloom is lovely though.  This one was from an early evening shoot nad I was trying to catch it with some fill light from the on camera flash.  This is where a wireless flash would come in handy.  It was taken with the Sigma 24-70mm and A100, although I am thinking the Minolta 50mm f/1.7 might do the trick.

I had a 2 minute trip to the park while taking Sarah for ice cream. It is was quick set of shots and green everywhere. This one was taken at a little pond at the park. In the distance, you can see the harbor. That is an area for some good morning pictures. I have to get up early enough one of these days. The shot below was taken with the A100 and Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 combo.

Quasi Macro Shots

The Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 is not really a macro as the closest distance is 13 inches, so these shots are about as close as one can get.  I had to do a crop, but did not enlarge the image to sacrifice quality.  I shot them in my homemade light box with a lamp to camera left and a hot shoe flash.  I really need a wireless solution.

Sarah on Mother’s Day

Sarah was all dressed up for Mother’s Day and I could not help but grab some shots. Unfortunately, the sun was ruthless and I could not find a good angle to shoot at. I did use fill flash on these, the shadows were really strong and everything else seemed blown. The shot were taken with the Minolta 50mm f/1.7.

Sunlit Tulip

Finally got some sun after a week or rain and clouds.  Sure the sun came out towards the end of the day a few days ago, but today was a full day of sun.  Too bad I had to go into work.  Before getting in the car, I stole a shot of a large tulip against the sun.  Normally I shot with the sun to the back, but I wanted a different angle.  Also, I pulled out the Minolta 5omm f/1.7 to go on the A100.  I was giving the Sigma a break.
